“At rehearsals for SNL :) I'm very excited for tonight! Spent the morning with Elle magazine doing a photo shoot. Busy day!” tweeted Kelly late Saturday afternoon.
"I'm a three-peat! I've made it," Clarkson told MTV News from rehearsals earlier in the week. "It's a legendary stage! I've been watching it since I was a kid. I think we all have."
Clarkson said she digs the vibe of the cast and crew. "It's a fun environment. You don't feel like you're working ... This is like a family place. Everybody here is nice to people who aren't famous. You know what I'm saying? They're nice to my makeup artist, my hair guy ... I hate people who are just nice to famous people. It bothers me. I want to kick 'em," she chuckled.
Clarkson still thinks about her first appearance on SNL in 2005, when she became the first American Idol winner to snag a musical guest spot. Even cooler, she got to flex her comedic muscles in a couple of skits with former cast members Amy Poehler and Horatio Sanz. "I remember I was so excited. First of all, Horatio? He's hard to do skits with because you laugh 'cause he laughs all the time at [himself]. So you're laughing 'cause he's laughing, and I'm trying to keep a straight face. I had so much fun."
But this go-around, Clarkson's too busy to participate in any sketches, instead focusing her energies for the live performance of her #1 single, "Mr. Know It All," as well as her latest hit, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)."
Kelly just released her iTunes Sessions EP, and kicks off her North American tour on January 13.
