Madonna stole the headlines from host Ricky Gervais at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards.

For starters, Madonna picked up the Best Original Song award for “Masterpiece” from her new film, “W.E.”

Then, Gervais poked fun at the pop icon as he introduced her as a presenter, giving the crowd hints that “she’s always in Vogue, she’s a Material Girl, and she’s just ‘Like A Virgin,’” before coughing sarcastically.

Madonna was quick to respond when she arrived at the mic, saying “If I'm just like a virgin, Ricky, why don't you come over here and do something about it,” before adding, “I haven't kissed a girl in quite a few years, at least not on TV.”

Gervais made huge news at last year’s ceremony by making fun of some of the celebrity nominees, but was asked to make a return appearance as host for the 2012 event.
