Rihanna will premiere her new single, “Diamonds,” on Wednesday.
The title track to the singer’s 7th album will debut September 26 at 8AM ET on Elvis Duran’s radio show on Z100 in New York.
Rihanna confirmed the news during an interview with Duran at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas on Friday.
When asked about the mood of the song, Rihanna said, “You’re not sad. You’re happy and hippie. It’s hopeful. It gives me a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are hopeful and positive. It’s about love and the gears are different than what people will expect.”
“I love good music, I love great music,” she continued. “When I make an album, that’s what I think about, what I love to hear. That’s what my fans love. I want to make it interesting, fresh, ahead of what’s on the radio. That’s the challenge for me.”
Rihanna’s new album is expected in November.
Earlier this month, Rihanna announced her 2013 Diamonds World Tour; shows kick off March 8th, 2013 in Buffalo, New York before hitting more than 27 cities across the continent.
