Coldplay go ape in Adventure Of A Lifetime video

Coldplay are premiering the video for “Adventure Of A Lifetime”, the lead single from their forthcoming album “A Head Full Of Dreams.”

Directed by Mat Whitecross, the animated clip – which took six months to create – uses motion capture technology and CGI to have the band appear as apes performing the song in the jungle.

The video appears to be inspired in part by Stanley Kubrick's legendary 1968 science fiction movie “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

While the film presents apes discovering how to use objects as weapons after encountering a mysterious black monolith, the Coldplay clip sees them discovering instruments and performing the tune after finding a Beats Pill portable speaker in the forest.

Due December 4, “A Head Full Of Dreams” was produced by Norwegian duo Stargate and Rik Simpson and recorded in Malibu, Los Angeles and London.

The follow-up to 2014’s “Ghost Stories” includes guest appearances by Beyonce, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton.
