Beyonce bans photographers from current tour

Beyonce has banned professional photographers from her current tour, The Mrs. Carter Show.

Media outlets have been advised that “there are no media credentials for this show. Local news outlets, including print and online will be given a link to download photos from every show.”

The move by the pop diva to control her image follows the fallout from Beyonce’s Super Bowl appearance in February, when media published what the singer considered some unflattering photos of her Halftime performance.

At the time, it was reported that Beyonce’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, contacted various outlets to request that some very specific images were taken offline.

The unusual request made headlines itself at the time and the move, ironically, shone more light on the images than there otherwise might have been, with many turning into viral memes.

Beyonce kicked off a European tour last week.

Beyonce drops angry new song

Beyonce has posted an angry new song online.

“Bow Down/I Been On” has the pop superstar in an angry mood, defiantly calling out anyone who considers her simply “Mrs. Jay-Z.”

“I know when you were little girls / You dreamt of being in my world,” she sings. “I took some time to live my life / But don’t think I’m just his little wife / Don’t get it twisted / Bow down b—-es, this is my s— … I’m so crowned / Bow down, b—-es!”

The track is the first new Beyonce tune to surface since the release of her 2011 album, "Four."

Produced by Hit Boy, there’s no word on whether the song will be included on Beyonce’s upcoming fifth solo release.

The pop star is scheduled to kick off “The Mrs. Carter Show” world tour on April 15 in Belgrade, Serbia.

VIDEO: Beyonce reunites Destiny’s Child at Super Bowl

Beyonce reunited with Destiny’s Child at Super Bowl 47 in New Orleans on Sunday.

The pop star had 12 minutes at halftime to deliver as much music as possible, and she did just that.

Opening with a tease of "Love on Top", Beyonce kicked into her first solo single, "Crazy in Love," before hitting "End of Time" from her most recent album, “4”, and “Baby Boy.”

Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined the singer at center stage for a few tunes, including "Bootylicious" and "Independent Woman: Part 1". Rowland and Williams’ microphones were buried in the mix throughout so as not to compete with Beyonce’s.

The girls then performed Beyonce’s hit, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)", before exiting the stage so the main attraction could wrap things up with her power ballad "Halo".

Beyonce proud of lip-sync performance at Inauguration

Beyonce says she is proud of lip-syncing the national anthem at President Obama’s Inauguration last week.

The singer revealed the news at a press conference Thursday to promote her Halftime Show at Super Bowl 47 on Sunday, where she will reunite on stage with Destiny’s Child.

Billboard reports Beyonce took the stage at the press event and immediately asked those in attendance to stand, as she began singing an a cappella version of the Star-Spangled Banner, and ended it with the cheeky question, "Any questions?"

"I am a perfectionist, and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed,” she said. “And I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra… Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound-check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk."

The superstar called the act of using a backing track "very common within the music industry," and said that she was "very proud of my performance" at the inauguration. She later added that rehearsals for the Super Bowl had made the inauguration performance overly taxing.

REPORT: Beyonce lip-synced anthem at Obama Inauguration

The New York Post is reporting Beyoncé’s performance of the national anthem at President Obama’s second inauguration on Monday was everything it should be: soaring, moving, symbolic and musically superlative.

It also wasn’t live.

The R&B diva only pretended to sing, lip-syncing the words to a backing track. What the listeners heard was a version she had recorded at a Marine Corps studio in Washington on Sunday night, a spokeswoman for the Marine Band said.

The spokeswoman, Master Sgt. Kristin duBois, said the weather was good and the Marine Band had no trouble with intonation during most of the prelude and ceremony, nearly two and half hours of music. Still, at the last minute, she said, the band received word that Beyoncé would use a recorded version of the national anthem.

“We don’t know why,” Sergeant duBois said. “But that is what we were instructed to do so that is what we did. It’s not because Beyoncé can’t sing. We all know Beyoncé can sing. We all know the Marine Band can play.”

A publicist for Beyoncé did not immediately return telephone calls and e-mail messages from the paper.

Read more about it here.

There’s no word yet on whether Beyoncé plans to lip-sync during her upcoming Super Bowl 47 Halftime Show appearance in New Orleans on February 3.

Beyonce teams with United Nations for World Humanitarian Day

Beyonce is teaming up with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations to help launching a global campaign to shine a spotlight on humanitarian work and encourage people around the world to get involved by doing something good for others.

World Humanitarian Day is a global day to celebrate humanity and the spirit of people helping people.

The World Humanitarian Day music video for Beyoncé’s song “I Was Here” will be filmed in the UN General Assembly Hall in New York in front of a live audience. It will be released globally on 19 August. Beyoncé and songwriter Diane Warren are donating the video to the campaign.

“We all see the headlines and we think what can I really do to help?”, said Beyoncé. “World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care.”

On 19 August, the campaign aims to reach 1 billion people in a day with a single message.

“World Humanitarian Day celebrates humanitarian work,” said Valerie Amos, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs. “I hope everyone will pledge to complete at least one humanitarian action - however great or small - through www.whd-iwashere.org. Together we can create an unprecedented awareness of the plight of people affected by crises around the world.”

The campaign website provides everyone with an opportunity to unite and share his or her individual acts of good.

In 2008, the UN General Assembly designated 19 August World Humanitarian Day to raise public awareness of humanitarian assistance worldwide, recognize people who risk their lives to help people in need, wherever they are, and to mark the day in 2003 when 22 people lost their lives in an attack on the UN offices in Baghdad.

It takes only five simple steps to support World Humanitarian Day.

1. Visit www.whd-iwashere.org
2. Click on “Show Your Support”.
3. Choose to support World Humanitarian Day via Twitter, Facebook or both, and get the word out to your friends and followers.
4. Continue tweeting and posting in the lead-up to 19 August.
5. On 19 August, make your mark by doing something in your local community, and watch as everyone’s World Humanitarian Day messages are simultaneously shared around the world.

VIDEO: Beyonce praises First Lady in re-election campaign video

This past spring, Beyonce posted an enthusiastic note of admiration to US First Lady Michelle Obama, praising her as "the ultimate example of a truly strong African American woman."

The First Lady acknowledged the note with a tweet of her own, writing, “Thank you for the beautiful letter and for being a role model who kids everywhere can look up to. –mo”

Now, the pop star’s love letter has been turned into a video as part of the re-election campaign for President Barack Obama.

Before Beyonce reads her letter, she introduces it by saying "I wrote a letter to the First Lady because I wanted her to know that I'm very grateful for everything she's doing for our country, and also for women around the world."

Beyonce has been an active supporter of the Obama camp over the years: she performed during the inauguration celebrations for The President in January 2009 and, this past May, the First Lady took daughters Sacha and Malia to Beyonce's concert in Atlantic City, N.J.

Beyonce to perform over Memorial Day weekend

Beyonce returns to the concert stage this Memorial Day weekend.

The pop superstar will perform three shows – May 25, 26 & 27 – to help launch the new Revel Resort in Atlantic City.

Beyonce is promising a new live show for the beachfront resort, the singer’s first concerts since 2011 and since the birth of Blue Ivy Carter back in January.

The shows will take place in the Revel's signature performance space, Ovation Hall, which was designed by a team of Cirque du Soleil veterans. The 5,050-capacity space features an unobstructed view for every patron and a state-of-the-art immersive sound system.

Revel opens its doors April 2 with an eight-week preview culminating in the resort premiere on May 25. Spanning 6.3 million square feet and standing 47 stories tall in Atlantic City, Revel is bringing a true resort option to the Northeastern United States. The beachfront destination is smoke-free and features 1,800 rooms with an ocean view, two performance spaces, more than a dozen restaurants, two nightclubs, a dayclub, spa, beach club, retail shops and a casino.

Tickets for the Beyonce shows go on sale on April 6 at 10 a.m.

Beyonce to star in film directed by Glee creator

Beyonce has signed on to star in a movie musical directed by Glee creator, Ryan Murphy.

The BBC reports Murphy's production company has confirmed the film will be called One Hit Wonders.

It will also star Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon.

The actresses will play singers who each had a hit song in the 1990s, but then faded into obscurity. The film follows their story as they decide to join forces and create a supergroup.

The BBC has been told that no script has been written yet, but that Beyonce's role has been created.

It's thought to be the first major project the pop star has undertaken since giving birth to her daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January.

Murphy will direct the film and write the script with his fellow Glee co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

The release date for the film has not been announced yet.

Beyonce working on two albums for 2012

Being a new mother isn’t enough for hard working Beyoncé – the singer is reportedly working on two new projects for 2012.

Billboard reports singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder, who won a Grammy for contributing to Adele's Billboard 200 #1 album, "21," told The BoomBox that he is sending Beyoncé songs about parenthood.

"The conversations about her next album literally just started and there [are] two projects happening," the OneRepublic frontman said. "All I can say is you kind of feed her the best that you have and she's this phenomenal filter and she takes it all in."

Though Tedder didn't reveal what the singer's second project would be, he assures fans they'll definitely see more of Beyoncé this year.

Beyoncé is also currently conducting a remix contest for her single "End of Time." The contest winner's version of the song may appear on a rumored remix album…for more details, click here.
