Jennifer Lopez has released a video for “Feel The Light”, a track from the original motion picture soundtrack for the DreamWorks animated film Home.
The clip mixes footage of Lopez with scenes from the movie, which opens March 27.
Directed by Tim Johnson, Home is based on Adam Rex's 2007 children's book, “The True Meaning of Smekday”, and stars Rihanna, Jim Parsons, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin.
Lopez performed the song live on last week’s edition of American Idol, where she is a judge for the season 14 edition of the reality singing competition series.
The Home soundtrack also features performances by Rihanna, Charli XCX, Kiesza, Jacob Plant and Clarence Coffee Jr.
Jennifer Lopez is previewing a clip from the video for “Booty”, one of the tracks featured on her forthcoming album, “A.K.A.”
Due June 17, her eighth record is JLo’s first since 2011’s “Love.”
The project features collaborations with Pitbull, Iggy Azalea, French Montana, Rick Ross and T.I.
“I am a lot of different things and I do a lot of different things. I love Hip-Hop, Pop, Dance Music and R&B,” said JLo. “I have created a collection of songs that make me feel good and make me feel happy.”
“Booty” will be the third single from the release, following “I Luh Ya Papi” and “First Love.”
A new meeting between Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Seacreast on Friday has refueled rumors that the singer may be returning to American Idol.
RadarOnline reports Lopez and her management have been in talks with Idol producers since before Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj recently announced their exits from the show.
“Benny [Medina, J. Lo’s manger] told FOX that she does indeed want to return,” a source told RadarOnline. “They’re talking. Negotiations are in their infant stages, but they’re underway to get her back to the judges’ table.”
Sources say Lopez wants to be grounded in Los Angeles and have a settled life for herself and her five-year-old twins, Max and Emme, as they prepare to go to kindergarten.
“Idol allowed her to do that,” a source said. “The twins will enter kindergarten in the Fall and stability is important for them – and J.Lo – at this time. She’s looking for possible schools for the kids in Los Angeles at the moment. Plus, if she’s living in L.A. full-time she will be able to focus on her film career and other ventures, including her fashion business.”
Lopez performed on the American Idol season finale last month; the singer was joined by Pitbull for their collaboration on her current single, “Live It Up,” marking her first appearance on the series since wrapping up her judging duties at the end of the previous season.
Jennifer Lopez has released a video for “Live It Up” ft. Pitbull.
The clip for the first single from Lopez’ forthcoming studio album was filmed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, earlier this month.
Lopez and Pitbull perfomed the track on the American idol season finale this past week, marking Jennifer’s first appearance on the series since wrapping up her judging duties at the end of last season.
The pair have previously worked together on songs like "On The Floor" and "Dance Again."
Jennifer Lopez has been named the World’s Most Powerful Celebrity in a new list published by financial magazine Forbes.
Lopez is “a state-of-the-art celebrity success story,” writes Forbes. “With $52 million in earnings over the last 12 months and a massive amount of fame, Lopez lands at No. 1 on our Celebrity 100 list for the first time.”
The magazine suggests that Jennifer’s career turned around substantially with her judging role on American Idol, which raised her profile and helped land her new product lines and endorsement deals.
Lopez bumped Lady Gaga out of top spot from the 2011 list.
Also included in the top 5 were Oprah Winfrey (2), Justin Bieber (3), Rihanna (4), and Lady Gaga (50).
A few weeks ago, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler announced his departure from American Idol following two seasons on the reality series.
“After some long......hard......thoughts…I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit,” said Tyler. “I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back - but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass - the ultimate in auditory takeover… On Nov 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars…’Idol’ was over the top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it’s time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD.”
Back in the saddle full-time with the Boston band, Tyler now admits that Aerosmith's troubles were the principal reason he signed up with Idol in 2010.
"It was something to do while the storm blew by, to be honest," he tells Rolling Stone, calling the show "not my cup of tea." Regarding his two-season stint, for which he was reportedly paid $10 million a season, he now says, "I loved it and hated it. It was a great job, I sat next to J. Lo and I made a ton of money. It was a moment in life and it became larger than life."
The downside, he says, was the workload and his supposed role as the new Simon Cowell. "It was just hard work: seven-hour days and then I went and did the [Aerosmith] album for eight hours after that," Tyler says.
Of criticisms that he and Jennifer Lopez, who is also exiting the show, weren't hard enough on most of the contestants, he explains, "The show's about kids and what you do to nurture their talent. They wanted me to take the piss out of the kids and I don't have that in me. That's not what I'm about. That's more about that other guy. Not me"
Aerosmith are currently on their Global Warming tour with Cheap Trick.

Jennifer Lopez is sharing more details behind her decision to leave American Idol.
A day after Steven Tyler announced his departure from the reality show to return full-time to Aerosmith, J. Lo went public with her exit plans on Friday when she called in to Idol host Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. “I honestly feel like the time has come that I get back to doing the other things that I do,” she said. “We had an amazing run.”
In an ABC-TV interview on Sunday, Lopez spoke further about the situation.
"We had magic," Lopez told ABC News' Amy Robach. "I don't know, with him [Tyler] gone, it might be a different formula."
Jennifer did share some thoughts on some possible new judges for the series.
"I think like Bono or Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger," she said. "You know me, I think big."
On Saturday, Lopez kicked off a North American tour with Enrique Iglesias and Wisin Y Yandel in Montreal.
On July 24, Jennifer will release her first-ever greatest hits package. “Dance Again…the Hits” features a dozen career-spanning hits and two new chart-topping songs: “Goin’ In” (featuring Flo Rida) and “Dance Again” (featuring Pitbull).
Just a day after Aerosmith's Steven Tyler announced his departure from American Idol, Jennifer Lopez has confirmed that she’s leaving the reality show, as well.
“I honestly feel like the time has come that I get back to doing the other things that I do,” Lopez told Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his national radio show Friday morning. “We had an amazing run.”
"It's just been a really long, tough process," continued J. Lo. "Ryan, you know more than anybody, I've been telling the truth. I really have been torn. When I signed on to 'Idol,' I signed on to do one year. I ended up doing two years because I just fell so in love with the show. You know that. I never felt so much part of a family of something working on it as I did with 'Idol.' I didn't know I'd be so moved emotionally. It was just such a lovely surprise in my life to do it. But even last year, when I had to make the decision [to come back for a second season], it was super tough to decide. I have my movies and my music and my this and my that. It all kind of worked together for a while. But it gets complicated."
There’s a possibility that Jennifer will be seen again on Idol.
"I feel like no matter what you guys need over there, I'm always gonna be here,” she told Seacrest. “Like if you need me to come and be a mentor."

Now that Steven Tyler has announced his departure from American Idol, all eyes are turning to Jennifer Lopez to see what the pop star’s future holds with the reality series.
On Thursday, Lopez appeared on NBC’s Today show to promote her voice work in the new animated film, “Ice Age: Continental Drift,” which opens Friday across North America.
In addition to the film, NBC host Natalie Morales asked J. Lo what her plans are in terms of coming back for a third season of Idol.
"It's been on my mind a lot, as you can imagine," said Lopez. "You know, I signed on to American Idol to do one year, and … I wound up doing the two years. And now it's like, 'OK, do we continue on this journey?' I've loved it so much. I enjoy the show so much. I enjoy just the whole process of the show and the whole thing. So it's a tough decision either way. But I have to say that there are so many other things that I do, and that I put on hold for that. At the end of the day, whichever way, it's a heartbreaking decision if I'm going to have to go."
"I know everybody wants that definite 'yes' or 'no,' and ... all I can let you in on is my own thought process with it, because that's where I truly am," added Jennifer. "And the truth is, I love everybody. I love all the guys on the show. I love the family that's there. Like I said, I've just enjoyed it so much. But I am thinking that maybe it's time for me to go and do other things that I really love to do."
