Kylie Minogue has dropped a new single called “Skirt.”
"Birthday surprise!!" tweeted the Australian singer on Tuesday, her 45th birthday.
“Skirt” was produced by Nom De Strip and co-written by The Dream.
There’s no word yet if the single will be from a forthcoming album, Kylie’s first since 2010’s “Aphrodite” and first since signing with Jay Z's Roc Nation label in February.
Kylie Minogue is the latest music star to relocate to Jay Z's Roc Nation label.
Minogue broke the news to fans, writing "greetings from my new home rocnation #KM2013ROC."
The Facebook and Twitter posting was accompanied by a photo (above) showing her wearing a Roc Nation t-shirt.
The label also announced the signing on their website saying, "Roc Nation would like to welcome Aussie singer, recording artist, songwriter, actress and designer Kylie Minogue to the family.
"In a career now spanning 25 years, Kylie has released 11 studio albums, two live CDs, eight live concert DVDs, a greatest hits double album, and multiple video packages. She has released over 50 hit singles worldwide, including the Grammy-winning Come Into My World, and has sold more than 68 million albums worldwide. Needless to say, we're excited to have Kylie join the Roc fam."
Minogue also announced that she will be performing at the House of Blues in West Hollywood on Sunday with Timbaland Deadmau5, Demetrius, Nero, Crookers and DJ Reflex.
This news ends speculation that Minogue planned to retire from music after parting ways with long-time manager Terry Blamey last month.
Kylie Minogue recently released her brand new album, “The Abbey Road Sessions.”
The package features sixteen tracks, all radically reworked, spanning Kylie’s 25 year career. The album was recorded in London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios with Kylie’s band and a full orchestra.
Nick Cave re-recorded his vocal on the famous duet, “Where The Wild Roses Grow,” especially for the album.
Other highlights of the album include a wonderfully poignant “Better The Devil You Know”, the ever-amazing “Confide In Me”, a sultry “On A Night Like This”, a joyous “All The Lovers”, the beautiful “Finer Feelings” and a version of “The Locomotion” which swaggers with true 1950’s panache.

Kylie Minogue delivered a medley of hits during her performance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert in London on Monday.
The Jubilee event, which celebrates Her Majesty’s 60-year reign, was held outside Buckingham Palace, where artists like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones and others performed for fans and the royal family.
Kylie’s medley included ‘Spinning Around,’ ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head,’ ‘Step Back in Time’ and ‘All the Lovers’ on a sprawling stage built around the Queen Victoria Memorial.
The celebration was broadcast by the BBC, and according to the Guardian, the program averaged nearly 15 million viewers, resulting in the channel’s biggest TV audience of the year so far.

Currently celebrating her 25th year in the business, Kylie released the new package on Friday - but only after fans had successfully posted 25,000 tweets using the hashtag #KylieTimebomb.
Minogue has a few high-profile projects on the go in the coming weeks.
On June 3, Kylie will perform at the all-star Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert, alongside other acts like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Robbie Williams, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones and Annie Lennox.
On June 4, the singer's latest greatest hits album, "The Best of Kylie Minogue," will be released in the U.K., while it is due out in the U.S. on June 19.
Kylie Minogue has announced the first dates of her upcoming intimate Anti tour, celebrating her 25th year in the business.
Billboard reports Kylie will play the Palace Theater in Melbourne, Australia on March 18 and then the Big Top at Luna Park in Sydney on March 20. Both venues have a capacity of about 2,000.
It's expected that further dates of the tour will be announced soon, which may include a visit to the U.S. later this year.
The tour is aimed at Minogue's very devoted fans, as the show will focus on rarities, b-sides and demo recordings.
"(The) Anti tour is something I'm very keen on. I think it's an interesting concept," she told Sky News in Sydney last weekend. "That's something that's really just for super fans. There's not going to be hit songs in that show, but it's a good balance to something like (the) Aphrodite (tour)."
Kylie Minogue has begun recording her 12th studio album.
“‘I have started on new music already. It should be ready for 2013,” Kylie told Metro UK.
For the new project, Minogue says she’s teaming up with some key personnel. “It’s a few different people,” she said, refusing to name names but promising fans her new offering is “really exciting and different.”
Next, Kylie heads home as the next part of her K25 celebrations to play her first Sydney Mardi Gras in 14 years.
“There are a few things coming up,” she said. “Mardi Gras will be such a great opportunity to thank that community for their support for so many years.”
Could there be a Madonna duet with Kylie Minogue in the near future?
The Mirror reports 2012 will be big for Kylie as she celebrates 25 years in the music business, and plans are coming together for a big ITV special celebrating her career.
Apparently, the paper reports, the plans include more than one guest appearance.
“There will be lots of duets,” a source tells The Mirror. “The plan so far is for a duet with her sister Dannii, Nick Cave, Jason Donovan, and a finale featuring a duet with Madonna.”
