Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has released a video for her new single, “Boomerang.”

The clip was directed by Nathalie Canguilhem and shot in November when Nicole was still on-air judging on the latest The X Factor UK season.

The single is set for release in the UK on March 10; no word on a North American date as of yet.

The new track is from her forthcoming album, due later this year.

Just months after former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger was dismissed as a judge on the US reality series X Factor, there’s word that she is resurfacing in the same role on the UK version of the series.

With her post-Pussycat music career stalled, Scherzinger has decided to return to television.

Billboard reports Scherzinger will replace Kelly Rowland at the judges' table.

Nicole has reportedly already served as a stand-in judge during the show's May auditions; the UK series will air its new season in August.

"I'm so excited to join the UK X Factor family," Scherzinger tweeted on Friday. "It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can't wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists."

Scherzinger helped launch the show's U.S. edition alongside Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid last fall. She, Abdul and host Steve Jones were dismissed at the conclusion of the show’s disappointing first year, with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato taking over judging spots on the show's upcoming season.

The team at the US version of The X Factor cleaned house on Monday.

Judges Paul Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones are all gone.

E Online broke most of the news on Monday, while Jones tweeted his announcement.

“I won’t be hosting next season’s X Factor, which is a shame but I can’t complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show,” posted the former host.

As for Cowell’s longtime pal Paula Abdul, "She found out today," a show source tells E Online. "At this point, the only ones staying are Simon [Cowell] and L.A. Reid."

Another source confirms to E! News that both Paula and Nicole were not renewed, "Simon wants to take the show in a different direction," says the insider.

The second season of X Factor is set to debut later this year.

The judge hit The X Factor stage Thursday night.

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Sherzinger took her turn at center stage on the semi-final results show this week, where she performed a new song, “Pretty.”

The track was billed as being from her forthcoming solo debut album “Killer Love” – which is out in Europe but whose US release keeps getting pushed back. The record was set for a November 15 release, but will now come out sometime in 2012.

The North American version will have a different song list than the European issue, for some reason.
