The band a had a run of hits in the 1980s, including the Prince-written “Manic Monday,” the #1 smash “Walk Like An Egyptian,” and the ballad, “Eternal Flame.”
After a break up, they reconnected in the late 90s to record a song for the Austin Powers: Spy Who Shagged Me soundtrack. A 2003 album did well in parts of Europe, but failed to have much impact worldwide.
These days, The Bangles consist of three of the four original band members: lead singer Susanna Hoffs, guitarist Vicki Peterson and drummer Debbi Peterson.
The band’s sound has long been based on the jangly guitars of the 1960s – think early Beatles.
The Bangles appeared on Dancing With The Stars last month, and Tuesday night they rocked a couple of songs on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, including the new single, “I’ll Never Be Through With You,” and their classic hit, “If She Knew What She Wants.”
