Kelly Clarkson kicked off the Super Bowl on Sunday with a solid rendition of the national anthem.
Backed by a children’s choir, Clarkson was center stage in Indianapolis for the most watched TV event of the year, and in a pressure situation to nail her performance.
“Guess what,” posted Kelly after the event. “I've never been more nervous in my life than singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl tonight ....wow that was almost not fun I was so nervous! Fun night overall though! Thank you everybody for all of the nice things you're saying about my performance! I really appreciate it.”
Sunday morning, Clarkson revealed a pre-show glitch that she and her team had to overcome.
“Literally left my wardrobe at the hotel in Louisiana and my tour manager had to run back and get it,” she posted. “Now we're on the plane headed for the Super Bowl but that was a close one! I'm not sure if I could have pulled off spanx and heels while singing the anthem.”
Clarkson recently launched her North American tour in support of her new album, “Stronger.”
