Nicki Minaj canceled her weekend dates at UK’s V Festival due to an injury to her vocal chords.

The Daily Mail reports festival organizers released a statement advising fans of the news.

“Miss Minaj's band and crew have all arrived in the UK ahead of the performance at the festival this weekend, however as the artist herself boarded her flight from New York on Friday 17th August, she felt unwell again,” said organizers. “This is despite having thought she had overcome her vocal cord issues from earlier in the week. Having revisited her doctor she has now been advised to rest for a week, which unfortunately means that she is no longer able to perform at V Festival.”

LMFAO replaced Nicki at the festival.

“The doctor has asked me to take 2 wks of voice rest… But…” tweeted Minaj this past week, later adding, “Another x-ray cmng up! Its a bruised Vocal Chord.”

After receiving the news, the singer performed on NBC’s Today Show (watch it here) on Tuesday and followed that up with a club show in New York later that night.

Minaj’s next concert date is scheduled for Tuesday in Dublin; no word yet on whether the show will proceed or if the singer will require further rest so that she may heal her vocal chords.
