Nelly Furtado is making waves with her new single, “Big Hoops (The Bigger the Better).”
It’s the lead track from her forthcoming album "The Spirit Indestructible," which is due for release in September.
The new project is the follow-up to the Nelly’s 2009′s Spanish-language album “Mi Plan,” and includes collaborations with Rodney Jerkins, Bob Rock, Tiesto, John Shanks and Da Genius.
“I began writing these songs around the time I released my Spanish album ‘Mi Plan,’” said Furtado. “I was in a great head space, feeling refreshed and ready to really deliver in English again. This album is all about positivity, youth, good energy, and the relentlessness of the spirit. I want people to live this music the way we did when we wrote it. I want them to jump, dance, scream, laugh, cry, love, and vibe to it, and to turn it up very loud everywhere.”
Furtado has offered up another new song from the project: “Something” features a guest appearance by Nas.
