Justin Bieber has debuted at No. 1 on US charts with his fourth album “Purpose.”
Billboard reports the pop singer tops the Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 649,000 equivalent album units according to Nielsen Music.
Bieber scored his largest sales week ever with 522,000 in pure album sales, beating his previous high of 374,000 with 2012’s “Believe.”
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
“Purpose” features guest appearances by Travi$ Scott, Big Sean, Nas, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Skrillex and Diplo.
Bieber previewed the project’s November 13 release with the lead tracks “What Do You Mean?”, “Sorry” and “I’ll Show You.”
