Justin Bieber was charged with assault in Toronto Wednesday night after surrendering himself to police.
The Toronto Star reports the pop star arrived at 52 Division to face a charge stemming from an early-morning December 2013 incident when police allege Bieber struck a limousine driver in the head.
Police said a limo picked up a group of six outside a downtown nightclub at about 3 a.m. on December 30. As the driver headed for a hotel, an altercation ensued. The driver stopped the vehicle and called police after he was struck.
“The man who struck him left the scene before police arrived,” police said.
Bieber’s representatives will appear in Toronto’s Old City Hall court on March 10 to address the matter.

There is reportedly another police investigation into Justin Bieber's bodyguards allegedly assaulting people that try to take pictures of the pop star and the latest allegation does not involve paparazzi, according to TMZ.
The gossip site reports that law enforcement sources have told them that Bieber was at a hooka lounge in Hollywood when someone tried to take a picture of the pop star.
A source told the site that one of Bieber's bodyguards tried to stop the person from taking pictures and a "scruffle" ensued. The person who was taking the photographs eventually called police, but by the time that police arrived on the scene, Bieber and his entourage were gone.
TMZ has been told that the police have opened a misdemeanor battery investigation focused on the actions of Bieber's bodyguards, not the popstar.
Bieber and his bodyguards were accused of three similar incidents in Miami just this past week alone. In one of the incidents, Bieber directed his crew to try and steal a photographer's camera.
