Fun. frontman Nate Ruess is premiering “AhHa”, the latest single from his forthcoming debut solo album, “Grand Romantic.”
It’s the second track issued – following “Nothing Without Love” – from the album, which is due June 16.
“Today's a super important day in the ever evolving world of my first solo album,” posted Ruess on Monday. “I've decided to release a flesh eating monster in the form of a song today. The song is called ‘AhHa’ and I implore you to turn it up really loud.
“Since releasing ‘Nothing Without Love’ it's been interesting reading speculation on what the album sounds like,” Ruess continues. “I wanted to release ‘AhHa’ next cause I'm pretty sure it keeps you guessing. It's 3 or 4 songs rolled into one, and in my mind, the perfect opening track for the whole album (the same way ‘Some Nights’ was written as the album opener).
“In fact, I always saw it as "Some Nights'" evil twin when I first started writing it a few years ago. I'd say more- but I'd rather save it for the album and let the song get you ready for it.”
In February, Fun. released a statement advising fans that the band members were taking a break to work on individual projects and that the group has no plans to break up.
Ariana Grande is teasing fans that new music may be on the way as she marks Tuesday’s 1-year anniversary of the release of “Problem”, the lead single from her second album, 2014's “My Everything.”
"One year since #problem!!!! what a year it's been," writes Grande on Instagram. "I'll never be able to find the words to fully express my gratitude and appreciation to be able to do what I love and to have the greatest, sweetest, funnniest (but actually the funniest....... ever), kindest, most generous and genuine fans (loves) in the world by my side.
“y'all are dream babes and I love you. here's to more music and memories (I may or may not be in the studio working on it right now)."
“Problem” – featuring Grande and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea – reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on many charts around the world.
The single helped “My Everything” debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 169,000 on its way to selling more than 1 million copies in the States alone.
Grande returns to live action next month when she begins a European tour in Paris, France on May 14; a summer run across North America starts July 16 in Tampa, FL.
Mariah Carey has released a lyric video for “Infinity”, her newly-released single featured on the upcoming new greatest hits compilation, “#1 To Infinity.”
Due May 18, the project will feature all 18 of the singer’s No. 1 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart – more than any solo artist in history.
The No. 1 chart hits on “#1 To Infinity” range from 1990’s “Vision Of Love” and “Love Takes Time” through to 2008’s “Touch My Body.”
The album arrives in sync with the launch of Carey’s Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which opens on May 6.
Lady Gaga will be honored as the recipient of the first-ever Contemporary Icon Award by The Songwriters Hall Of Fame during their 46th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner on June 18 in New York.
The honor has been initiated in order to celebrate a songwriter-artist who has attained an iconic status in pop culture.
Lady Gaga’s resume includes three consecutive Number One albums on the Billboard 200, six Grammy Awards, 13 MTV Video Music Awards, named one of “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” four years in a row by financial magazine Forbes – all on the way to selling 28 million albums and 140 million singles around the world.
“It could be said that this honor was created with Lady Gaga in mind,” says SHOF President & CEO Linda Moran. “She has enjoyed monumental popularity on the charts, on radio, TV and the Internet, not to mention the continuous press coverage she has generated.
“She is a consistent hit maker who has surprised everyone by proving to be as adept with the great standards as she is with her own songs. We at SHOF are particularly proud that Lady Gaga performed at one of our songwriter showcases when she was still known as Stefani Germanotta.”
Gaga’s most recent album is 2014’s “Cheek To Cheek” with Tony Bennett; the collection of updated jazz standards earned the duo a 2015 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal.
Inductees at upcoming The Songwriters Hall Of Fame event include Bobby Braddock, Willie Dixon, Robert Hunter & Jerry Garcia, Toby Keith, Cyndi Lauper and Linda Perry. Van Morrison will be honored with the Johnny Mercer Award and fun.’s Nate Ruess will receive the Hal David Starlight Award.
Adam Lambert says the only thing his single, “Ghost Town”, and Madonna’s current single, “Ghosttown”, have in common is the title.
Issued just two weeks after Madonna’s, Lambert explains his shock at discovering both artists were releasing singles with the same title at the same time.
"I'm on my laptop on a little four-day vacation in Mexico," Lambert tells Billboard, "and I open up my iTunes, I'm searching through, and I'm like, Oh, Madonna's music is out! I love Madonna! I've always loved Madonna -- she's an icon, she's an amazing entertainer. And I see on the track listing a song called 'Ghosttown.' And I thought, What are the chances? What is the hell is going on here?"
At first, Lambert panicked a little.
"My reaction was so complicated," he says, "because I think I texted my management, like, 'Did you see this? Did you see this? What are we gonna do?' And they said, 'You know, it's fine because the songs are so different.'
“Hers is like a post-apocalyptic love song, mid-tempo, and mine's like an existential dance goth rave thing. So they're two different songs - they just share a title."
Lambert’s “Ghost Town” is the lead single from his forthcoming album, “The Original High.”
Due June 16 in North America, Lambert’s third solo release was record in Stockholm, Sweden and Los Angeles with Max Martin and Shellback as executive producers.
Hilary Duff has released a lyric video for her new single, “Sparks.”
The song is the third track to be issued from Duff’s forthcoming 5th album, due this summer; it follows “Chasing The Sun” and “All About You.”
Produced by Bloodshy and written by Swedish electro artist Tove Lo, “Sparks” was also recently featured in the trailer for Duff’s new TVLand series, Younger, which premiered on March 31.
The singer’s upcoming album is her first since 2007’s “Dignity.”
Fans can order the single via iTunes or the Amazon link above.

Avril Lavigne is premiering the video for “Fly”, a song inspired by and to benefit the Special Olympics.
The tune is in association with the Avril Lavigne Foundation's support for Special Olympics; the charity provides support to children and youth living with serious illnesses or disabilities.
All net proceeds from “Fly” will benefit the event as the 2015 Special Olympics World Games open in Los Angeles in July.
"This song means a lot to me personally," says Lavigne. "It is inspired by the many young people I've met throughout my work with my Foundation. They pursue their dreams no matter what obstacles they face.
"Special Olympics' mission is to unleash the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, so they're a natural fit for this song."
Lavigne and Robb Dipple co-directed the video, while the singer co-wrote "Fly" with David Hodges and her husband, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback.
Rihanna has released the video for “American Oxygen”, the third track issued to date from her forthcoming eighth studio album.
Directed by Darren Craig, the clip features the singer among a montage of images from throughout US history – from the civil rights movement to the moon landing, JFK and contemporary visuals from today’s headlines.
Earlier this month, Rihanna premiered “American Oxygen” on streaming service Tidal and delivered its live debut at the Final Four of March Madness 2015 in Indianapolis on April 4.
The tune follows “FourFiveSeconds” with Kanye West and Paul McCartney and “Bitch Better Have My Money” as the third song previewed from her next album.
Chic featuring Nile Rodgers performed a pair of tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday.
The group delivered their classic disco hit, “Good Times”, and their newly-released single, “I’ll Be There”, from the forthcoming album, “It’s About Time.”
The project is the group’s first new studio project in more than 20 years, since 1992’s “Chic-ism.”
"As with all Chic albums, this one's based on a concept,” says Rodgers. “Four years ago I was stricken with very aggressive cancer and I wasn't sure how much time I had left. I decided the album’s concept would be about time and I'd feature as many people from the lifespan of Chic that I could on it."
Rodgers formed Chic with bassist Bernard Edwards in New York in 1976. The group scored several hits during the disco era, including “Le Freak”, Everybody Dance” and “Dance, Dance Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah).”
In recent years, Rodgers has produced a series of hits for other artists, including Daft Punk, Avicii, Adam Lambert and Duran Duran.
Nick Jonas performed his hit single, “Chains”, on The Voice on Tuesday.

The single, which peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, was written and produced by Jason Evigan with songwriting assistance by Ammar Malik and Daniel Parker.
Jonas’ second single from the album, “Jealous”, hit No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 last fall.
Queen and Adam Lambert have added two shows to their fall tour of South America.
In addition to headlining the opening night of Rock in Rio on September 18, the band will also perform in São Paulo (Ibirapuera Arena) on September 16 and Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sol (Gigantinho Arena) on September 21.
“We’re Back! Rockin’ in Brazil!,” says guitarist Brian May. “Can’t wait! See ya there, guys!!”
"I'm so excited to be joining Queen for these dates,” adds Lambert. “This will be a triumphant return for them, and my FIRST time in South America!"
Ticket details will be announced soon and further Latin America dates are expected to be scheduled.
Part of Rock In Rio’s 30th anniversary series, Queen’s appearance marks the band’s return after opening the inaugural event in 1985 with original lead singer Freddie Mercury.
Queen’s opening night on January 11, 1985 at Rio’s custom built City of Rock exploded the record books, drawing an audience of over 250,000. The band’s second appearance on January 18 brought their total Rock in Rio audience beyond 500,000.
Televised to over 60 countries across the world, Queen’s shows were watched by nearly 200 million people. Queen albums occupied all top ten places in the Brazilian album chart and “Love Of My Life” became a new Brazilian anthem.

Jennifer Hudson joined The Late Late Late Show host James Corden for the latest edition of his “Carpool Karaoke” series.
Corden launched the feature a few weeks ago with Mariah Carey as he explained the need for a second passenger in his car so that he could use the carpool lane to drive to work.
Hudson and Corden jumped right into some of the singer’s biggest hits in the car on their road trip, which saw the pair stop at her Hollywood Walk Of Fame star and order from a drive-thru.
Hudson’s latest album is 2014’s “JHUD” and the singer is currently featured on the latest Iggy Azalea single, “Trouble.”
Corden recently took over the CBS late night program following a 10-year run by comedian Craig Ferguson.
Madonna is making major headlines after planting a kiss on Drake during her surprise appearance with the rapper at Coachella on Sunday.
Madonna hit center stage about halfway through the rapper’s set to perform two hits: 1994’s “Human Nature” and 2005’s “Hung Up.”
As she wrapped up her surprise “mini-set”, Madonna made her way over to Drake and gave him a long kiss as he was seated in a chair on stage.
“Bitch, I'm Madonna," the singer said as she made her exit as Drake wiped away her lipstick and laughed, "What the fuck just happened?"
Madonna faced a backlash from some fans and she responded on Instagram: “If you don't like me and still watch everything I do... B**** you're a fan.”
Music fans and the media have been speculating on Drake’s reaction to the kiss, as he wiped his mouth afterwards with a surprised look on his face.
“Don't misinterpret my shock!!,” wrote the rapper on Instagram. “I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 💯 about that forever. Thank you @madonna”
Madonna is currently making the rounds to promote her recently-released album, “Rebel Heart.”

"I was thinking about my own self-destructive side, and how you can make something only to tear it down," says singer Florence Welch about the new single. "When you're in that whirlwind, you often end up breaking the thing you love the most."
Due June 2 in North America, the follow-up to 2011’s “Ceremonials” was recorded throughout 2014 and produced by Markus Dravs (Björk, Arcade Fire, Coldplay) with contributions from Paul Epworth, Kid Harpoon and John Hill.

An official song list and release date are to be announced.
The album is expected to coincide with the launch of Carey’s Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which begins May 6.
"I'm going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars,” Carey told Ellen DeGeneres recently. “This is a special event for me. And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I'm gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album #1's, and this is now the updated version with eighteen of them.
“Hopefully other people will enjoy this. I've never done this before. It's a new chapter for me and I'm just excited about it."
“#1 To Infinity” will be Carey’s first album for Sony Music's Epic Records, with whom she signed last month.
Carly Rae Jepsen has confirmed that her third album will be titled "E•MO•TION."
The singer announced the news via her social media sites, saying “I've been working on new music for awhile now... happy to finally announce that my sophomore album "E•MO•TION" will be out this summer!”
Jepsen has been working on the follow-up to 2012’s “Kiss” with collaborators like Rami Yacoub (One Direction, Nicki Minaj), Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), Jack Antonoff (fun., Taylor Swift), Ariel Rechtshaid (Charli XCX, Haim), Tegan and Sara, Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij, Greg Kurstin (Sia) and 2015 Grammy winning Producer of the Year Max Martin.
The project features the lead single, “I Really Like You” (available at iTunes), which is currently sitting at No. 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The popular video for the tune stars Tom Hanks lip-syncing Jepsen’s vocals as he goes through his daily routine.
"I wanted a video that made people laugh and smile and just feel joy!,” says the singer. “I really think we captured that.”

Hilary Duff has released a new single called “Sparks.”
Produced by Bloodshy and written by Swedish electro artist Tove Lo, the song is the first track to be issued from Duff’s forthcoming 5th album, due this summer.
The tune is also featured in the trailer for Duff’s new TVLand series, Younger, which premiered on March 31.
The singer’s upcoming album is her first since 2007’s “Dignity.”
“The album has taken on a lot of different lives, which I guess is to be expected when you’ve taken such big break,” said Duff. “It is a little bit of electro-pop, a lot of it is just straight-forward pop and some of it has gotten pretty dance-y, which is cool. Some songs still have a little bit of a folky side.”
Fans can order the single via iTunes or the Amazon link above.
